69 Days Sober – Going Sober is Like Having Sex

Posted by Sober Tony on April 24, 2017 2 Comments

It’s my 69th day sober, so I wanted to write something special…

But this was the best I could do, hope you enjoy.

12 Ways Going Sober is Like Having Sex

  1. The first time is usually awkward.
  2. It can become a spiritual experience.
  3. You can find help in the right books.
  4. You can do it alone, but it’s better with a friend.
  5. Nobody has it all figured out.
  6. Don’t brag about how many consecutive days you’ve done it.
  7. You’re allowed to cuss… a lot.
  8. It changes your brain chemistry.
  9. Self acceptance is part of the process.
  10. Experience is the best teacher.
  11. Both the process and the end result are important.
  12. Afterwards, life is a happier place.

Bonus (because sometimes we all over-perform)

  • They have medications to help, but they carry a lot of stigma.

Let me know what you think. Leave a comment below to offer your own suggestions. I will add them to the list.

All I know is, I thought sex with my hubs while sober would be boring, and in fact the opposite is true.
    It is better than ever!
